Jet Blast ~

Week of April 14th

We are starting to make plans for the 19-20 school year already!!  Please check the School Loop Calendar for dates like Back to School Night, the first day of school and schedule distribution, if you are starting to think ahead about next year.  Dates of events are being adding weekly, so make sure you frequently check it if you are curious about next year.

Our student run-club, Political and Proud is back with a new event celebrating the work of young women who are leaders in the greater Alameda community.  Join us for a night of discussion featuring young women like Eman Khatri of Alameda High School, Girls Inc. of the Island City’s Women Who Dare Teen Award Winner and Amy Chu, an EHS alum who is studying Environmental Economics and Policy at UC Berkeley and the amazing Ladan Kahin, a current junior at EHS.  There will be two discussion panels: one on Effective Organizing and Leadership, moderated by New York Times Best-Selling Author of the “Rad Women” series, Kate Schatz; and another on Young Women Paving the Way in Male-Dominated Fields, moderated by Alameda School Board President, Mia Bonta.  The event will have limited seating, so register soon!

The link to register is HERE.  This event will take place on Tuesday, April 16th at 6:30pm beginning in the Student Center.

The PTSA will have their monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 17th at 6:30pm in the Student Center.  All are welcome.

The annual Spring Musical continues this Thursday, April 18th  and Saturday, April 20th with the production of the Addams Family. Show time is 7:30 for both nights.  We invite everyone to come out and see our talented students in this wonderful, new production.

The Grad Night Committee is sponsoring a fundraiser on Thursday, April 18th at Tucker's Ice Cream Parlor on Park Street between the hours of 5:00pm and 8:00pm.  Proceeds from his event will benefit the Grad Night Committee who is working tirelessly to provide a safe and sober grad night for our graduating seniors.
