Michael Meyers

I grew up in Houston, Texas playing tennis and marching in my high school band. I received a Fulbright Scholarship after university to live in Gueret, France and teach English in a public Middle School. Upon my return to the States, I taught for two years in the Atlanta area, then started teaching at Encinal in 1997.

Teaching/Educational Philosophy

Students must be presented with rigorous academic challenges but also provided the support needed to succeed. In a language class, I think students should focus on communicating with each other in realistic situations. I also believe that studying another language improves students capacity to think and learn about any complex system of knowledge. Finally, I feel that learning can be both rigorous and fun.

Personal Note

I love my job!
