Background

I grew up in Chico, CA on the swim team and going to public schools. I moved to the Bay Area for college and stayed in Oakland after meeting my husband before moving to Alameda 10 years ago to raise our three daughters. I have been in education for 15 years, teaching in Alameda for the last seven.

Teaching/Educational Philosophy

I believe everyone wants to learn; anyone who has watched a toddler knows we are born full of curiosity. I think my job as an educator is to fuel and refuel that innate interest, creativity and fun that every student brings into the classroom.

Personal Note

I love teaching! It's a family passion. My great-grandmother, great aunt, grandfather, and father were all teachers; I even married a teacher! (I can't remember a family event or meal that didn't involve some discussion of education...)
