Sean Ward

I was born in Boston, grew up mostly in Indiana, and graduated from high school in Iowa. We moved every couple of years, so I attended 9 different schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade. I know what it's like to be new and to be an outsider. My dad grew up in Los Gatos, California, and my grandfather was involved in the establishment of Silicon Valley. I came to California in 1999 to be closer to my grandparents, and have been teaching high school in various schools in the Bay Area since then. I came to Encinal in 2013 and am very thankful, happy, and proud to be here.

Teaching/Educational Philosophy

I believe in creating opportunities for all students. Your zip code or your background should not determine your access to opportunities. I am doing the best I can to make Physics, Computer Science, and Robotics more accessible.

Personal Note

I'm married with two sons, 6th grade and 1st grade.

My sons attend school in a Mandarin immersion program, and my oldest son is fluent.

Please don't run me over if you see me biking to or from school!
