Background

I followed in my family's footsteps to UC Berkeley where I earned a degree in Mass Communications. After working in marketing for a few years following college, I went to UC Santa Barbara's Gevirtz Graduate School of Education to earn my credential in English and my masters in education. I have been teaching English and academic support classes at a middle school on the peninsula for the past four years.

Teaching/Educational Philosophy

I believe that every student (or person) has the ability to be successful in school. By providing engaging and enriching learning opportunities in my classroom, I hope to teach my students to set high expectations for themselves. With the support of their classmates and myself, a student will learn from others in the class on how to reach their goals and how to challenge preconceived notions about the world.

Personal Note

I was born and raised in the Bay Area - just over the hill in Orinda. I attended Miramonte High School where I played water polo and swimming. I come from a huge Cal family, and I am excited to be back in Cal territory!

Education
